Lazada: Joining the Ecommerce rise in the Philippines

We are all slowly adapting to the change of culture mostly adjusting to the digital era for the betterment of our life. They have become integral in our daily activities making almost everything easier and faster than how it was then. Online shopping is now a rising trend in the country now that it has become popular to the local online users. A couple of years ago, online shopping was just an idea that wasn't highly regarded by local online users. There's a lot of scams happening both for online and offline in the country. This is why online transactions are not highly trusted by the local online users in the country. Initially, local online classified ads were the top websites in the country in the buy and sell industry. Local classified websites helped prepare the arrival of local online malls. They started the marketplace community in the country.

During the time online classifieds were unavailable, local online users didn't know where to go when they want to buy something online. It became more of a reference for pricing when they want to buy something. It allowed local online users to do more and stay longer connected to the Internet. It turned to be a buy and sell platform for most local online users. The difference between them and Ecommerce is that it is third party resellers who gain from the traffic. It's most likely that transactions are being done offline by third party resellers. Group buying type of websites also influenced local online users. It helped the customers be prepared in online payment for the arrival of Ecommerce websites in the country.

In the Philippines, local online users were already familiar by the local Ecommerce websites were launched. One of the factors why local online users considered this is that the reward over throws the risk. A lot of convincing deals was offered by group buy websites which can't be found anywhere. The offered deals of group buy websites were so great that it will be hard for customers to not try them out. A year ago, the Lazada Online Mall was launched in the Philippines. They are actually an online mall that is part of a venture in South East Asia. They are supported by Rocket Internet owned by the Samwer brothers.

Lazada Philippines made an impact in Ecommerce thru their flexible payment methods. With so many payment methods, each of their customers will find something that they will them best. Online stores usually only accept PayPal or credit card payment from their customers. The conventional way of payment is usually tough for local customers since they don't have any of the mention for online payments. They actually offered Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative payment to their customers. As a result, this allowed them to tap the markets that are still wary of online shopping. This market is actually the majority market in the Philippines. This finally helped the Ecommerce grow by tapping into these markets as well for online.
