Lazada: A flexible way of shopping

How many of us struggle when we don’t get connected to the Internet for a week? I’m pretty sure a lot of us are guilty with this. This just shows how remarkably it became part of our life or how we do our daily activities.  It has become more of a necessity rather than just an option. The trend in online nowadays is online shopping, which is currently on the rise in the Philippines. Online users actually didn't find online shopping reliable a couple of years ago. Frauds and scams happen most of the time both in online and offline in the Philippines. This made online transactions unattractive for most local online users. In the local online space, local online classified websites were the premiere local websites closest to Ecommerce. It helped the arrival of online malls in the country.

An online marketplace was eventually created because of their online presence. It made it hard for local online users to buy what they want online when local online classifieds didn’t exist yet. It was just used mainly for pricing comparison of items consumers want to buy. It paved way for local online users to maximize the usage of Internet. It was a venue for buy and sell local online audience. This was very different from Ecommerce since it is being populated of sellable items care of third party resellers or suppliers. Customers usually pay offline when dealing with third party resellers.

Group buying websites also had the same influence on the local online users. They paved way for upcoming Ecommerce websites in the country. By the time they arrived in the country, local online users were sort of familiar on how to deal online with Ecommerce websites. One reason why online shopping was ever considered is because they can gain more than what they are risk. Group buy website offered unconventional better deals to local online users. Prices offered by them were at rock bottom that it is too hard to pass on.

Last year, Lazada Online mall was launched in the Philippines. It is an online store venture available in South East Asia. The Samwer brothers own this venture under there German based company Rocket Internet. Lazada has very friendly payment methods that helped the Ecommerce industry to online prominence. These online payment methods help customers decide which is more suiting on their payment capabilities. It is usually credit card or PayPal that it is allowed to be use for paying online by online malls. Both credit card and PayPal payments are usually a problem for local online customers since they don't possess any of the two. They were one of the first online malls to offer Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative form of payment method. This made the untapped market a reachable market audience in the Philippines. As a matter of fact, it is the majority of the local market in the Philippines. It allowed the Ecommerce industry to further grow with these markets now included.
