Lazada: Giving online customers all the payment options they need

It only normal for us to adapt to the culture that we have grown to such as how we address our shopping needs. However, rather than go with traditional shopping, which is offline, it's good to know that we can also avail online shopping. People now can control their schedule and time. These are the people who work during unusual hours. These are the customers who work on graveyard shift. This doesn't allow them to have a normal lifestyle like visiting the malls on a regular mall hours. They just can't visit the malls anytime they want. These traditional malls are only visited during the time when they don't have work.

Obviously, it's harder for them to shop compared to people who work on normal hours. Now that they online shopping as an option, they can shop whenever they want. Offline businesses are now stretching their reach in online. Actually, this trend only started last year in the Philippines. This all happened when Lazada came into the picture. They are one of the first online shopping mall in the Philippines. They also exist in key South East Asia countries.

The Ecommerce industry really grew when they arrived in the country compared to the days when online shopping wasn't around yet. Actually, their impact on Ecommerce can't be disregarded. Since there is no competition in the local online scene, it makes sense for their move to launch it in the country. The real challenge for them is how they will tell people to shop on their website. The local online users that are why it was harder for online malls to turn visitors to customers did just not regard online payment dearly. This is actually hard for online users as their credit card details might get exposed. What makes it challenging is that majority of the population are not credit card owners. This hampered the chance of Ecommerce growth in the country.

Payment setup is one of the factors why Ecommerce never grew fast compared to other countries it reached success earlier. It doesn't mean local online users are not familiar with online payment. We don't really consider reward initially; instead we jump to risk immediately. It's just plain and simple; we don't trust online malls right away. Online malls for us are all scams, which is sad. It's pretty clear that these two alone makes Ecommerce a tough market to crack.  The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall came up with a solution to eliminate these two huge issues in the local Ecommerce. Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. was introduced to Lazada's local online customers as their alternative payment method.

Customers can pay only after their orders have arrived and are handed over to them with this payment method. This is just one of their payment methods that they offered and solved the current Ecommerce woes in the country. They even have offered installment payments online, which makes them one of the first online malls to offer such payment scheme online. They’ve also re-offered PayPal payment to their customers just recently. This just shows how dedicated they are in making sure their local online customers have all the options they need when deciding how to pay for their orders.
