You can count on Profriends

As we all know the Cavite area has been badly hit by the monsoon rains. We live in the Lancaster New City area and I couldn’t thank Profriends enough because we got off scot free. It seemed like they did really well in designing the drainage system for the village. I tweeted them on their  twitter account to show how I appreciate the work that they did. It was a masterpiece. I know that the Property Company of Friends, Inc. (PRO-FRIENDS) is well-known for their corporate social responsibility that is why I was not that surprised when they made a quick one line announcement that they are going around to check if there are people in the area that was affected by the monsoon rains and that they are very much willing to provide any assistance they could provide. I thought that is a great gesture. It is something expected from a company like Profriends that has been doing humanitarian activities ever since they started. I went through the company profile to take a look at past advocacy activities that they engaged in and it is very heart-warming to know that the company has been through a lot making them an instrument of change for the lives that they have touched through those activities. A couple of those activities are related to disaster preparedness and here are some details:

Emergency Preparedness Drive – This is a seminar that was conducted by volunteers coming from the Cavite chapter of Philippine National Red Cross and the Imus Fire Department. The informative gathering of course was sponsored by Profriends in the light of their constant effort to engage with the residents of the community developments and other surrounding areas. The main theme of the conference was to inculcate emergency and disaster preparedness into the minds of the individuals living in the community. The primary aim is to increase the average citizen’s awareness on what to do during times of emergency and disaster. Lectures were provided covering different kinds of emergency situations both natural and man-made as well as demonstrations of basic first aid and the quintessential cardio-pulmonary resuscitation technique or CPR which is very handy in all kinds of emergency situations. The lecturers from the Red Cross and Imus Fire Department also educated the residents on the importance of having fire and smoke detectors set-up inside their homes as well as the presence of fire extinguishers in conspicuous areas around the house in case a fire inadvertently starts. Included in the demonstrations was the proper utilization of a fire extinguisher, again another important skill in disasters especially those that involve explosion and fires. The speakers also laid out the do’s and don’ts after an earthquake has strike as well as what is going on behind the scenes of an earthquake, why it happens and how it happens along with the signs that an earthquake is going to strike. This types of seminars are very helpful because it provides ordinary people with knowledge that will enable them to respond to disasters with a presence of mind instead of responding with fear and panic. Profriends not only build homes but they empower people as well. Profriends is a real estate company that you can really count on.
