LazadaPH: Things are looking good for Ecommerce

Most of us have probably noticed that shopping online is exponentially becoming popular in the Philippines. Online users actually didn't find online shopping reliable a couple of years ago. The rate in the Philippines both offline and online is off the roof in the country. Logically, this makes local online users shy to shy away from online transaction. Local online classified ads were the website closest to Ecommerce but more on the buy and sell industry. This helped the Ecommerce industry prepared the local online users for online malls. Their visitors eventually became a community in the marketplace industry.

During the time local online classified websites didn't exist, local online users didn't know where to go in online. Mainly it was used for price comparison for items they are planning to buy it allowed local online users to do more and stay longer connected to the Internet. These online ads website became an online place for local online users to buy and sell. This was very different from Ecommerce since it is being populated of sellable items care of third party resellers or suppliers. Third party resellers and buyers usually do offline transactions.

Group buying website also has this contribution to the local online users. They showed the steps for the arrival of online malls in the Ecommerce industry. The local online users were already prepared with online payment but the time Ecommerce websites arrived in the Philippines. The reward was too high for customers that they can discount the risk. It was hard to find better deals than what online users found on group buy websites. Their offered deal was at rock bottom price that it made local online users not to miss out on their deals.

Just a year ago, Lazada Philippines was launched in the country. It is an "Amazon" type of venture present across South East Asia. The Samwer brothers own this venture under there German based company Rocket Internet. Lazada Online Mall influenced the Ecommerce industry with its various online payment methods. A lot of online payment methods are available for customers to make it easier for them. Online malls usually only allow credit card or PayPal as the accepted form of payment in online. Conventional online payments like these, only limits the customers in availing what they want.

They first introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. to the local online users. It allowed them to get into the untapped local shopping market that was previously untapped due to the limited payment options offered by other online shopping companies. The majority market of the customers who are unable to pay online the conventional way can still experience online shopping with them. Now that the entire market is opening in online, it definitely helped Ecommerce thrive in the country.

The rise of smartphone usage and netbooks sales also contributed to the success of Ecommerce in the country. With more users online, it gives online malls like the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall more opportunity to tap a wider audience. Things are looking good for Ecommerce now that cheaper smartphones and tablets are available in the country.
