LazadaPH: Ecommerce is now main streaming in the local online scene

Can we still remember the time were Ecommerce didn’t exist or wasn’t felt at all to the local online users? These were the days were we only use Internet as a gateway to gain access on information or to communicate with other people. Things have drastically changed in the online scene nowadays. With the arrival of Lazada in the country, local online competitors showed up while the online shopping popularity started to rise. Ecommerce was a very unpopular online industry in the Philippines before they arrived in the country.

Local online users initially looked down upon online shopping as an alternative option for addressing their shopping needs. The local online users are more open in dealing at local online classified websites when they want to buy second hand items. Brand new seekers conventionally go to traditional offline malls when they want to buy something.

It is expected from us given that we were raised shopping on traditional offline malls when want to buy something. In online shopping, we fail to realize that we can actually save our time and money. What are the benefits we can get if we avail online shopping? They can shop online as they please, wherever that may be. Travel expense can now be saved since customers will no longer need to visit traditional mall locations.

This is the issue that the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall wanted to address when they were launched in the Philippines. It was also a challenge for them on how they can tap the untapped market in online. The online market in the country was hard to penetrate since majority of the population can't pay online due to most of them not have their own credit card. It's just that we also don't trust so easily especially when it involves money transactions. For most of us, we are aware that in online transactions, frauds and scams may also be possible.

The Ecommerce industry is now getting recognized in the local online platform. To see the progress of Lazada online mall making an impact on the local Ecommerce is quite amazing. To showcase that they are legitimate as they can be, they had some TVC slots during primetime on top local channels. What did they do to break the Ecommerce limitation in the country? What they did is they offered Cash on Delivery or simple called C.O.D. as an alternative payment method.

Typically, online stores do not offer this in online. It is actually very risky for a business to offer that kind of payment method. Online customers can pay later after they receive their orders with this alternative payment method. What's great about this is that customers will only pay once they receive their orders. It's a worry-free setup since customers can hold their money until their orders arrives at their home. Their intention is tell their customers that shopping on their mall won't lead them to be scammed. At the end of the day, it is best if an online mall will make their customers trust them.
