Lazada: More people are getting hooked in online shopping

Whether we like it or not, a lot of changes are happening in our generation particularly with the help of digital penetration in our lifestyles. We evolved to a point where we don’t rely on certain matters since it can be done online faster and easier. Take for instance our options to shop either by online or offline. Online shopping is a very helpful alternative for people in address their shopping needs. It gives customers more in control of their time. They live in lifestyle where they prefer to live life at night. Probably they are the one set for night shifts in their work. This doesn't allow them to have a normal lifestyle like visiting the malls on a regular mall hours. Unlike most of us, they can't visit any malls. They only visit these traditional malls when they have no work. Since they don't work at a normal time shift, it's obvious that it is harder for them. It's better now for them since they have online shopping as an option.

Most offline business is now being made available to online as well. Surprisingly, this only occurred since last year in the country. Online malls started to show up everywhere when Lazada came in. Their arrival makes them one of the first online malls to arrive here. They are actually a venture that is available in other South East Asia countries. Ecommerce reached popularity in the country when the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall came in, as compared to the previous years, which is prior to their arrival. They can actually take credit for their influence on the local Ecommerce scene. Competition in the local Ecommerce industry was really low that it made sense for their arrival in the country.

Actually the initial problem they had lies with how they will allow customers to visit their website. Turning online visitors to online customers were hard primarily because online payment is not highly regarded. What makes it difficult for them is that their credit card and personal information are exposed online. The majority of the population here in the country doesn’t even have their own credit cards. It's because of this limitation on why Ecommerce never took off in the country. This doesn't mean that the local consumers are unaware of local online payments. The problem with Filipinos is that we don't give them a chance and we overshadow reward with risk. Most of the time, we just ignore online malls probably because we are new to it.

To us, it's all put up to scam local online users. This makes online shopping very hard to penetrate just basing on these two issues. Upon Lazada's arrival, they created a solution for these Ecommerce woes. This online mall offered their customers Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as their alternative payment method. Unlike other online malls, this won't require customers to pay right away. This is a very safe option even if you think of it logically. The mere fact that you get to keep your money until your orders arrive is already gold.
