Last year, Lazada Online Mall was launched in the Philippines. It is powered by Rocket Internet, one of the Ecommerce giants globally and is owned by the Samwer brothers. Besides Philippines, it is also a venture available in other South East Asia countries. They wanted to penetrate the market of South East Asia in Ecommerce. Prior to their arrival, Rocket Internet is already well known in the online business. Shopping online in other countries is already pretty common and is already part of the lifestyle. Initially, the Ecommerce industry was really slow in growth in the country before they were launched. Conducting online payment in the country was tough since only a majority of them can avail it. Not all of us have decent Internet connection. Not all of us possess their credit card. It is usually via credit card that online stores accept online payment.

With the introduction of C.O.D. or Cash on Delivery as an alternative online payment method, it allowed anyone to experience online shopping. In my own opinion, Cash on Delivery alternative payment method helped improve Ecommerce in the country since it allows the untapped market to become online customers. As of today, more offline businesses are slowly moving to online venue as well. Online business suddenly had relevance to local businessmen after Lazada showed it to them. A couple of years back, the industry of Ecommerce was facing a lot of challenges. Even if we had some online users who are capable to deal with online, almost none of them like shopping online. Online shoppers who can online the conventional way were actually afraid to expose their credit card details. These reasons failed Ecommerce to grow quickly than expected. Classifieds online website were one of the first websites in the country. On the other hand, online shopping malls were deeply challenged in the online scene. It's actually logical for them since there's not too much investor is thrilled in entering the online shopping industry.

In order for Lazada to overcome this drought they invested on full blown online marketing efforts. It was actually hard to miss them out in online. This helped them in building there brand at a much a higher pace. What made them above their competition is that their customers were served with the full online shopping service. They also offer free delivery availability besides their Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. payment method. Any products or items bought at Lazada come with manufacturer's warranty similar to what traditional malls offer to their customers. It just shows that almost everything we can get from traditional shopping can be availed in online shopping as well. It only boils down on where can you can the best deal out of what you want to buy. In online malls, promos and discounts more frequent to be offered rather than traditional malls. They just need to pick which best suits there needs and where they get more satisfied.
