How things have changed in online shopping

During the early years, investing on an Ecommerce industry business was really challenging to anyone in South East Asia. A lot of Ecommerce companies have launched their business in the era but failed to thrive. If you ask me, it was just wrong timing on their end since the online population was not yet ready at that time. The majority of the market audience who can pay through online at that time was really low. Most of the people don't have a credit card. For the few of them can avail online payment via credit card, not every one of them considers online transaction even. Since online frauds and scams happen regularly, the reactions are actually expected. It doesn't help that customers are used to traditional offline businesses since they are more credible than online businesses. Logically, we have a perception that if we deal face to face we are much safer, which is how offline business is setup.

However, we are overlooking the legit online businesses who offer better prices compared to offline. Unlike traditional offline malls that pay rental fee on their store location, online malls can offer better deals and lower discounted price of their items. Discounts and promos are regularly offered by online stores making them a more enticing option. They really need to offer it to get noticed by the customers and try online shopping as an alternative. Online stores like the Lazada Venture which is also available in other countries in South East Asia. In the Philippines, they are actually one of the key online shopping malls that offer huge selections that is similar to a department store. They introduced Cash on Delivery which was offer for the first time by an online store. It helped them reach whatever they are reaching now in the local Ecommerce industry. They recently celebrated their first year last April and are already achieving milestones that no other online store achieved at very short span. A lot of the competitors only launched after they showed up on the online radar last year. It clearly shows that Filipino businessmen are now open to the fact Ecommerce has a future in the country. We can only watch as online shopping takes off in the coming years.

From the online store point of view, they successfully captured the online market's taste. Since Cash on Delivery is available, they were able to tap the untapped market by other online stores. Now that customers can pay in cash, the usual online audience increases significantly. To top that of, they even offer free delivery as long as the transaction value exceeds one thousand pesos. The shipment fee will be waived if it goes beyond one thousand marks. Now that they can offer Cash on Delivery and Free Delivery, it can easily convince any customer to try online shopping over offline shopping. It’s actually the reason why online shopping is now rising in the country in my own opinion.
