Lazada – an
online shopping website perfect for Filipino shoppers. You have probably seen
its advertisements all over the internet. For some reason, they manage to show
up in every social media site or website in general I visit regularly. Maybe
it’s just a coincidence but it was only a matter of time until I eventually
ended up on their site. You can only keep avoiding something for some time.
While I was scrolling over its pages, I noticed how alike it was with the other
sites I order from like eBay. I like the idea of getting something for a
bargain. But when I saw Lazada, it was evident that I no longer had to stick to
second hand bargains. They sell numerous products on sale It’s a shopping site
you can access online that is available every day. With their secured online
and various alternative payment methods catering to any possible payment
scenarios to their customers, anyone can experience online shopping. As we all
know, paying online is very different from offline. With online, a lot are
considered first. To some online stores, they limit customers who are
non-credit cardholders or non-Paypal account users, which is the majority
population in the Philippines. This is one of the few reasons why Ecommerce
never took off in our country prior to their arrival.
Filipinos are not equipped to do online transactions unlike
other countries where it is already common for them. Since their arrival in
South East Asia, Ecommerce industry took off. To many of us who are not aware,
I just recently found out that Lazada is available in other countries as well
in South East Asia. They are also available in countries such as Indonesia,
Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. They are an online venture derived from the
business model of Amazon, which is very successful in the United States. It is
actually the goal of Rocket Internet, a huge Internet company owned by the
Samwer brothers, to translate Amazon’s success in South East Asia.
It’s actually expected since Rocket Internet is widely known
for copying online business models on countries that are lacking online services
of other countries that do have it. It’s actually not a bad gig if you ask me.
They are just making the world maximize the power of online services. On
Lazada’s case, they are giving Asians a chance to enjoy shopping in online
malls. What they did in Asia is tremendous. It opened the eyes of local
businessmen to see the potential of translating their already successful
offline business to online. This only helps them spread their reach in market
audience. Hence, it provides them greater opportunity to grow their business.
But what I like about Lazada the most is how they vigorously aim to provide the
best online shopping experience to their customers. Their introduced Cash on
Delivery payment method helped them tapped the untapped market in South East
Asia. By allowing them their customers to pay in cash.
