Lazada PH: Website Speed & Product presentation matters in Ecommerce

The use of website nowadays have evolved significantly dating back to when it started. I remember the days when websites were initially presented in a pure text based platform. Internet was basically a huge online library or encyclopedia. The information was quite overwhelming at that time. But as technology and Internet speed progress, website evolution came along with it. Websites are now even used to entertain people. No longer it is used just to get information and catered to die hard readers. Websites have become more sophisticated. It became a platform to conduct online business as well. As for our country in the Philippines, online shopping is now starting emerge itself on its own.

Just a couple of years ago, the closest we can get near of an online shopping experience is through local online classifieds marketplace. Top local websites like Sulit is not directly selling items. Instead, they are being used as a platform to cater second sellers. A meeting point for selling and buying for the local online community. But last year, the online game changed when online mall website like Lazada came into the picture. They are an online shopping mall the offers huge selections ranging from the usual consumer electronics to fashion. What a typical traditional mall offers is also available on the said online shopping mall. What makes them stand out besides their very friendly payment method options is its website user friendliness. Any first time visitor on their website won’t have much of a problem getting familiar on how to use their website. It’s pretty hard to get lost on their website.

They always have a fixed main category navigation that can be found on the upper left side of the website. So in case you get lost from the inner sub categories of their website, it will be easier to get back on where you want to go next. Their categories are even segmented accordingly to target audiences based from their interest. So if a fashion enthusiastic customer visits their website, they can directly go the fashion category. Same goes if the visitor’s interest is on electronics, they can visit the electronics section away. In essence, it makes their website navigation much faster and efficient. No need to waste their time in browsing the wrong interest of category. Judging how they divided their main categories, almost everyone can get a general overview per main category right away. What I also like about them is that they have a good balance of decent media presentation and Internet speed. As we all know, its only natural for an only store to rely on media files to bring out their products as lively as possible. There is a saying “a picture is worth thousand of words”. On Ecommerce, it doesn’t apply at all. The more pictures you show to the customers on what you are selling the more likely you’ll sell the product that the customer is checking on your website.
