Online
users will always look for way to try to get the best shopping experience To
think that Ecommerce is just starting to spread in the Philippines Shopping
online wasn't even a discussion in the Philippines just a couple of years ago.
We were not actually very closed minded in online shopping, it's just we don't
have enough local online malls during those times. Ecommerce scene changed when
they launched in South East Asia. They are available in Indonesia, Malaysia,
Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines. They
are actually backed by Rocket Internet. A huge Internet company based in
Germany. Their business model was quite simple. They clone online business
models that were successful on other countries and launch it on countries that
don't have that service yet. With their arrival in the Philippines, it allowed
us to try online shopping as an option to address our shopping needs.
Shopping
on traditional malls was just part of our culture growing up. Parents may have
contributed dearly on how we perceive shopping on traditional malls. Parents
may have dearly contributed in our way of thinking in offline shopping on
traditional malls. Now that we are living in the digital modern era, it made
most of our offline activities way easier when done online. We just don't
depend on traditional shopping anymore, now we also have online shopping as
another option to address our shopping needs. The Philippines’ Online Shopping
Mall is actually more reliable than its competitors given it has diverse
options unlike other online stores. They were one of the first online stores to
introduce Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. in the country.
As a
result, online shopping became possible to everyone. It became evident that
online shoppers can now pay thru cash as an alternative payment method. Online
scams are highly unlikely to happen since we have the advantage as a customer.
All the customers need to do is leave their shipment address and recipient upon
their check out and they are good to go. Payment of cash can be just handed
over by customers as soon as it receives their orders. Customers can inspect as
long as they want before paying. Only they can offer this kind of option to
their customers. Customers are the ones who get the advantage with this kind of
setup. It proves that they only want to provide us the best online shopping
experience in the Philippines. Now that they are willing to take all the risk,
it reflects on how they can be trusted by the local online community. They even
took an extra effort by shouldering the delivery fee of their customers as long
as it exceeds one thousand pesos mark.
Personally,
I like what Lazada Philippines is
doing to make the Ecommerce become a huge thing like what they are on other
countries. We are actually late adopters of online shopping. But I’d rather be
late to adjust to this kind of lifestyle than not at all. I’m quite excited on
what they will offer in the future.
