Getting addicted to online shopping

Most of us have been addicted to be connected online. It used to be just an option for us that converted to become a necessity in our daily living. A lot of the reasons might be numerous offline activities becoming available in online as well. One good example is having the option to shop on online from anywhere and whenever customers would like.

As a matter of fact, online shopping is now a rising trend in the country now that it has become popular to the local online users. Believe it or not, this wasn't the case a few years ago; people were hesitant in online shopping. Most of us are aware that we have a high frauds and scams in the country for both online and offline. Moreover, this is the reason why many do not consider online transaction.  What was closest considered in Ecommerce was local online classified websites.

Local classified websites helped prepare the arrival of local online malls. These top local classifieds online created a marketplace community in online. It was actually tough to seek items you want online when these local online classified websites were not yet available. It has become a venue for online users to check the price of the item they want before visiting malls. These allowed online users to stay longer have other purpose in Internet usage. A lot of small business used this buy and sell platform.

The difference between them and Ecommerce is that it is third party resellers who gain from the traffic. Customers do Offline transactions most of the time. Customers also encounter this same kind of setup with group buying websites. They showed the way for the Ecommerce websites in the country. In the Philippines, local online users were already familiar by the local Ecommerce websites were launched. Local online users have a lot to gain than loss. It was hard for local online users to get greater deals being offered by group buy websites. The offered deals of group buy websites were so great that it will be hard for customers to not try them out.

A year ago, Lazada Online Store arrived in the country. An online mall ventures available across South East Asia. The Samwer brothers who own Rocket Internet back it. By offering various payment methods, the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall helped the Ecommerce grow in the country. The payment methods being offered by them allow their customers to select whom they prefer the best for them. Credit cards and PayPal are usually the online payment method accepted by most online stores. This hampers the customers in availing the items they want since they are limited in paying online the conventional way. The online payment method Cash on Delivery helped customers to avail online payment more. The untapped market in the past can now be tapped with their offering of this payment method. Actually, the majority of the local market is this one in the Philippines. This finally helped the Ecommerce grow by tapping into this market as well for online.

Lazada: Online shopping is sizzling hot in the Philippines

Seeing how Internet had shifted to addressing our usual activities offline, it changed how we do our daily routine. Internet has become part of our culture. With the penetration of the mobile market, it only made the impact even greater in making online a main stay for the local users. This also dramatically increases the number of online users as well. It is very convenient for anyone as they can connect online whenever and wherever they are. This made online shopping a possible option in the country by most local online users. Ever since Lazada came into the picture, other local online businesses were put to live as online shopping started to roll upwards. Ecommerce was a very unpopular online industry in the Philippines before they arrived in the country. Not everyone found online shopping as a helpful option for addressing the customer’s shopping needs then. Majority of the local online users visit local online classified websites when they are looking for second hand items.

Customers who want to buy brand new items often visit traditional malls. It's pretty normal to see since most of us grew up visiting traditional offline malls when we need something. In online shopping, we fail to realize that we can actually save our time and money. So what can we get from online shopping? With online shopping, local online customers can shop wherever they may be. Customers will no longer need to visit location traditional malls saving them money on transport expense. The Philippines' Online Shopping Mall wanted to fix this for the local online customers in the country.

One of the challenges that they were facing is how they can tap the untapped online community in the country. Credit cardholders in the country are quite few, which makes it almost impossible for some customers to pay online. It's obvious that we are not comfortable or very trusting in online transactions. Online frauds and scams also happen globally, which we are all aware of. The online shopping industry in the country is actually on the rise. It's really hard to imagine that Lazada has only been here for more than a year yet it contributed dearly on the Ecommerce industry. To prove that they are legit online mall, they were seen on TVC on top local channels at primetime.

What solution did they come up with in the usual Ecommerce woes in the country? They called Cash on Delivery or C.O.D offered an alternative payment. As a matter of fact, most online stores or malls won't offer this kind of payment method. A lot of risk lies when an online business offers that kind of payment method online. This particular payment method doesn’t require online customers to pay right away. Customers can pay cash right after their orders are handed over to them during delivery. With this, customers won't need to worry about their money getting scammed. This is to kill the perception of local online users that shopping at their mall is safe and secured.

Shopping option that works for everyone

For most of us, we get troubles when we want to address our shopping needs. To some, time may not be a factor for them but for people who have a very strict and tight schedule – it is a big deal for them. It's great that we now have online shopping as an alternative way for shopping. It gives customers more in control of their time. They just have a tough schedule and work lifestyle. These are the customers who don’t have free time in daytime and are at work at night.

However, they can't go to malls during regular hours and are only free when it is usually closed. Even if these people want to visit traditional malls, they can't. They only visit these traditional malls when they have no work. Clearly, this makes them hard for them since they are not living on a normal time shift. It's great that they have online shopping option now at their disposal. Most of the businesses are now being put up online.

As a matter of fact, it only happened last year in the country. When Lazada Philippines showed up, other online malls showed up as well. It is one of the first online malls to be established in the Philippines. They are made available in other South East Asia countries. The industry of Ecommerce has risen after they arrived in the country. It's easy to say that they influenced the Ecommerce industry for its rapid growth. It actually made sense for any online business to try the local online market given that competition is very low.

The real challenge for them is how they will convince the local online users to buy from their website. Online payment wasn't highly regarded at that time that's why it was hard for them to lure people. The local online users were just hesitant to use their credit card since it exposes their personal details.

Sadly, only few of the entire population in the Philippines own a credit card. It's probably one of the important factors on why it struggled in the country for so long? This doesn't mean that local online users are not familiar with online transactions. It's quite hard for customers to not focus on risk before looking on the reward that lies ahead. It's just simple and easy; we don't want to give online malls a chance especially if it is still new to our ears. First thing that comes to our mind is that it is only a scam for us. It's safe to say that combing these two is a huge problem for online businesses in the market.

Good thing that the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall came up with a solution to solve both of these issues. They first introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. in online to solve these issues. They don't necessarily require their customers to pay right away only until they received their order package in real time. They are free to inspect and pay only after it is handed over to them.

Lazada: Relaxed and worry-free online shopping

It is easy to say that almost all of us have an inner shopper within us. It only varies whether how addicted a person is in shopping. Some of us easily shop because of stress or they want to reward themselves. Some just make a hobby out of it. Point is, shopping is very integral in address our needs or most of the time – luxury demands. In this generation, shopping or buying something can now be done several ways. But I’d like to focus between offline and online shopping. So how does online shopping weigh in over traditional shopping with the local customers? Most of us would have avoided online shopping if this was asked a few years ago. For online shopping to be accepted by customers, an online mall should have good credibility.

Scams and frauds in online usually happens, which leads online customers to not rely on online shopping at all. Unlike other countries, there are only a few local consumers who have their own credit cards. This makes it acceptable that any online customers will be skeptic in trying online shopping. Customers usually measure if an online store has a sufficient secured line for credit card transaction. These are the factors that customers assess before deciding if they precede on shopping online.

The online shopping pace quickly changed when online malls like the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall arrived in the country last year. Once they arrived in the country, they brought with them a solution that will solve the local Ecommerce issues in the country. Their solution was to offer an alternative payment method that will solve the local Ecommerce woes in the country. Cash on Delivery was the alternative payment method that they were banking on to help them penetrate the local online market. Customers can relax and not worry since they feel secured with this kind of payment method.

No longer will customers be required to submit their credit card details and can try their service without having to risk their end. So how does it work for the customers? The local online customers can go directly to the Lazada website and check out their huge selection. Once the local online customers are set on which items they want, they can order it from their website and not pay them right away. Customers who selected Cash on Delivery as their payment method won't be required to pay upfront before their orders are processed for delivery.

All the customers need to do is relax until their order arrives at their home, which usually takes about two to five days. Customers will only be subject to pay in cash once their orders are handed over to them upon delivery. Once an order delivery is above one thousand pesos, they will shoulder the delivery fee. It's good to know for customers that they get to hold their money up until their orders arrived at their doorstep. It's actually surreal to see that a customer has the upper hand over online stores.

Conventional shopping and online shopping

Internet has become integral in our daily activities nowadays. It has become a tool in making our daily tasks much easier and faster. However, Internet has evolved more than that such as allowing us to shop online. It is actually overwhelming to see that online shopping is now starting to become popular in the Philippines. Online users actually didn't find online shopping reliable a couple of years ago. One of the reasons is that we have a high fraud rate for both offline and online in the Philippines.

Logically, this makes local online users shy to shy away from online transaction. In the local online space, local online classified websites were the premiere local websites closest to Ecommerce. This helped the Ecommerce industry prepared the local online users for online malls. A community of marketplace was eventually built thanks to these local online classifieds. During the time local online classified websites didn't exist, local online users didn't know where to go in online. Online users are using it as their measurement in pricing. It allowed local online users to do more and stay longer connected to the Internet.

A lot of people go to their websites to buy and sell on their own. This was very different from Ecommerce since it is being populated of sellable items care of third party resellers or suppliers. Customers usually prefer and go with offline transaction. Group buying website also has this contribution to the local online users. They paved way for upcoming Ecommerce websites in the country. The local online users were already prepared with online payment but the time Ecommerce websites arrived in the Philippines. Online shopping to local online users has more upside than downside. It was hard to find better deals than what online users found on group buy websites.

Many online deals are being offered way lower than it is supposed to by group buy websites, making it harder for customers to ignore. Just a year ago, Lazada Philippines was launched in the country. One of the online mall ventures that is launched in South East Asia. The Samwer brothers own this venture under there German based company Rocket Internet. With Lazada's payment methods, it helped them impact the local Ecommerce in the Philippines. A lot of online payment methods are available for customers to make it easier for them. It is usually credit card or PayPal that are only allowed for paying online by online malls.

Conventional online payments like these, only limits the customers in availing what they want. Local online consumers were introduced with Cash on Delivery as their alternative payment method online. It allowed the untapped market to be tapped them in the Philippines. It is the majority of the local consumer market in the country. Now that the entire market is opening in online, it definitely helped Ecommerce thrive in the country. More and more people in the Philippines who were only used to conventional shopping are considering shopping online as their alternative.
